California Tortilla is a unique fast casual Mexican restaurant franchise that serves “California style” Mexican food. We focus on one aspect that many other Fast Casuals continue to ignore; quality. We source the best ingredients from local farm to table purveyors. We use only premium proteins and our salsa, guacamole, queso and sauces are made fresh daily and are never frozen. In fact, there’s no freezer on site at all. Our menu is Chef-Inspired, and while we cater to individual customer needs, we offer bold and exciting flavor profiles in our signature products. Perhaps most importantly, guests aren’t a number at Cal Tort. They are individuals… people that we really like and want to see again and again.

At Cal Tort, you’ll find addictive combinations like Honey Lime, Korean BBQ and our signature California Screamin’. And just in case you’re looking to turn up the heat on your favorite dish, Cal Tort is home to the Wall of Flame with 75 hot sauces.

The initial investment range for California Tortilla is $441k to $836k. Actual cost will be determined largely by the type and condition of the real estate and the particular market you are in. Accordingly, our financial requirements are based on the availability of $250K in liquid capital, $1M in net worth and a high credit score.

The best quick food in the area with a kick!!! Great food, super nice staff, good parking, fun and relaxed atmosphere, great soda selection, awesome sauces, good prices. End up picking here over our next fave place most weekends 🙂

Bob Phillips Chairman
Robert (Bob) Phillips has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and Treasurer since our inception in 2003. Bob has a long and accomplished career in restaurant ownership and management, with brands such as Everything Yogurt, Broadway Pizza and Ranch 1.
Keith Goldman President, Chief Operating Officer
Keith Goldman is co-founder and serves as President and COO. Keith has 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, and has operated as an independent restaurateur, a franchisee and franchisor. Keith holds a BA from Tulane University and a Master’s Degree from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration.
Michael Dolinger Vice President of Development/Operations
Michael Dolinger is a veteran in multi-unit restaurant operations, having worked for companies like Caribou Coffee and Glory Days Grill. Mike started his career as a franchisee with ExxonMobil and earned degrees from Johnson and Wales, L’Academie de Cuisine and Radford University.
Stacey Kane Chief Marketing Officer
Stacey Kane has 25+ years of experience working with multi-unit restaurant chains as a CMO, Head of Marketing, and Marketing Consultant. In addition to CalTort, she has worked with brands like Jose Andres’ ThinkFoodGroup, Subway & East Coast Wings. She was named in the Top 20 Movers & Shakers by Fast Casual Magazine six times.
